Photodynamic therapy is a treatment that combines the application of a photosensitizing agent with exposure to either the Omnilux Blue or Omnilux Revive to more aggressively treat both acne and/or photoaging. A topical solution (Levulan) is applied to the skin prior to exposure to the light source — results for both acne and photoaging are excellent. Photosensitivity persists for 48 hours after this treatment and there is a period of recovery or “downtime” following this procedure.
We offer Omnilux Light Therapy for the treatment of acne, periorbital wrinkles, pain and benign and vascular pigmented lesions.
The Omnilux system is based on narrowband Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). This therapy is provided by a device which emits Red, Blue, or near infrared light to the treatment area.
Omnilux Light Therapy is non-invasive, non-ablative and safe for patients. Patients show improvement in pigmentation, redness, vascularity, skin tightness and skin smoothness, without downtime. Omnilux stimulates cells athermally without causing damage to the epidermis or dermal tissue; therefore there is no pain for patients or unwanted side effects. Patients will continue to see results for several weeks after treatment.
